In Sidemen we stayed in a perfect bugalow overlooking the terraced rice fields. It was in traditional style, nicely decorated. (It always strikes me that I don’t like Chinese and Indonesian decorations when I see them in Europe. But here they are in their natural context and it often looks fantastic).  We arrived early and spent a relaxing afternoon. Everything perfect you would say… But in the morning I felt bad, with a heavy stomach, couldn’t eat anyhing and in the course of the day I could not but conclude that I had diarrhea. Very inconvenient and besides that I felt like a wet newspaper, so riding to the coast today was not the greatest pleasure I remember. Add the growing heat as we got down to the sea. But no great accidents occurred. I think I’ll skip dinner tonight as well. Strange to get this in a perfect accommodation as the one in Sidemen. We have eaten in stalls along the road and experienced no problems then.
