Mission part II accomplished. Odo 1879. A nice ride through lovely countryside. I reached Lodève (57 kms) somwhere at noon. For lunch I had a salade with potatoes and salmon. Very good, but a bit heavy maybe. This was not very sensible in the light of the climb I had ahead. Between Lodeve and Lunas there is a pass of over 600 mtrs alt. And I felt it. Actually I was happy to notice that my legs could do it. But it was hot and long, over 6 kms of ascent. Jacques was so kind to come and meet me in his car. We met just 1 0r 2 kms under the pass. He offered me to get into the car, but of course I couldn’t accept this. It would make my undertaking impure, as Gino Gomba had mentioned it when I denied his offer in Martigny.
So I reached my friends’ house on my own and was welcomed very warmly. There was cold beer, a shower, nice food and wine, long talks and a perfect sleep afterwards.
