Money matters

On Tuesday April 10th we continued along the north Lombok coast to the east. We ended up n Caf’e Nusa Indah, run by the very kind madam Ana, who speaks English well. She had two very basic rooms, with on the floor below a mandi room: a toilet, a big bucket of water with a small saucepan. Business is so low, that – as so many other people – she hardly has any cash. When we asked if she had beer, she offered to go and get some, but we needed to give her the money (a couple of Euros worth) so that she could pay for the beer in the shop. But we had a lovely dinner and interesting evening together. The next morning we discovered that  during the next 5 or more days we wouldn’t pass an ATM (a cash dispencer, geldautomaat) any more. This made it necessary to go back to the last ATM we had seen, which was the town we had stayed the day before. I spent 3 hours on the rear seat of the husbands motor cycle (50cc Honda) in order to meet up again to the notion of the wealthy westerner. Lesson learnt: prepare better!
