On Easter (not here) we crossed the straits to Lombok. It took just over 5 hours, seated in seats taken from an airliner. We then rode another 25 kms to Sengiggi, a touristic place, where we stayed in a very nice bungalow with a view on the sea. From the veranda we stepped into the garden, 20 meters further on the black (vulcanic) beach and then right into the warm sea. We dined in the same garden, with low lights in the company of geckoes, bats and some other flying unknown species. Lovely.
The ferry.
