Verona

We spent a lovely day in Venice. A wonderful place, unique in the world. Crowded, but still very much worth while a visit.Sitting on a terrace sipping away a cold beer Eveline came up with an idea that took some time for me to accept: the roads here in Italy are so busy and cycling therefore is not much fun, why not take a train to Verona, instead of cycling there in 2 days and continue from there northward along lake Garda to Riva and further. Thus we decided to do and now I’m writing this entry on the campsite in the premises of an old medieaval fortress overlooking the city centre of Verona. Alas there’s no opera in the arena today, but the old centre is about as beautiful as Venice without the canals. We spent the afternoon and evening strolling around and visited the modern art museum. Tomorrow we will continue towards lago di Garda and then Riva will be the next stop.
